HOCKEY HELMET DEVELOPMENT

CLIENT : Easton Hockey

INDUSTRY : Consumer goods

EXPERTISES :

THE PROJECT

Our customer, Easton Hockey, teamed up with Creaform to develop a new hockey helmet, the S-19/S-16. Working closely with the customer’s industrial design team, Creaform’s mandate was to convert and model in 3D the new helmet parts using CATIA V5. This included the internal protection EPP design.Starting with the scan of a handmade physical mock-up, Creaform had to do the reverse engineering of the helmet in order to generate an aesthetical and high-quality “A” surface.

In a second phase, the Creaform team had to work with 2D sketches and client guidelines to integrate the design modifications requested by Easton. Creaform also had to develop ear pieces and a protective EPP for this helmet.

Once all the parts were completed, approved and ready for injection molding, the Creaform team proceeded with the sizing of the shell and EPP parts to cover all production sizes.
